You search on www.tradiefinder.com using either the map search or the quick search. To use the map search click on your state, followed by your region and sub-region. You will then be redirected to the categories page where you can select the category (e.g. Gardening and Landscaping). To use the quick search enter a keyword into the ‘Looking for...’ text box (e.g. plumber, carpenter, window repair) and your suburb or postcode into the ‘Location’ text box (e.g. Caulfield, VIC or 3161). This will then take you to the search results page where you can select a business to contact.
Once you have selected a business to contact from the search results page fill in the information in the form on the right hand side of the business advertisement. This information will be sent via SMS to the business. If the business is available to take on the job you will receive an SMS back with their contact details and they will receive yours. If the business is unavailable we will notify you via SMS.
How does the rating system work?Top
Businesses can request a rating from a customer. Customers will receive an SMS on behalf of the business requesting this. alternatively, customers can go directly to the business’ advertisement on their own accord, click on the rating stars and rate the business. Businesses can be rated from one to five stars, from lowest to highest quality of service. These stars are visible on each business advertisement. Ratings are entirely determined by the customer.
The TradieFinder service is of no cost to the customer.
I’ve contacted a business and have not heard back, now what should I do?Top
Your information has been sent to the businesses and they have been asked via SMS whether they are available to take on the job. TradieFinder strongly encourages all businesses to reply YES or NO to a lead ASAP, so we don’t leave customers hanging. However, it may be the case that they business have a delay in response or choose not to reply to the SMS, in which case TradieFinder is notified after 2 hours. Should this be the case, we recommended customers continue to search for similar businesses within the area/industry to contact. Keep in mind you can contact as many businesses as you wish for the job.
What if I can’t find the category I’m looking for?Top
Use our quick search tool using various keywords to refine your search. You can also browse through the categories page – please make note of the ‘More Services’ and ‘Rooms & Specialties’ tabs. If you still cannot find your category please send us a customer enquiry via our Contact Us page. We will endeavour to respond promptly to your enquiry.
Click on the Businesses join Here! link in the navigation bar on the homepage. select the areas you wish to service from the map. Fill in your details on the joining form and create your own advertisement. Once you have accepted the terms and conditions and submitted the form, you will be directed to TradieSpace, our members’ only area.

How do I make my advertisement stand out from the rest?Top
There are many ways to optimise your ad, here are three ways to draw further attention to your business:
1. Edit your advert - The most successful businesses on TradieFinder have put the most love into their advertisement. TradieFinder recommends you log into TradieSpace and edit your advertisement to include as much information as possible; images work a treat so please upload your business logo and other relevant photos. All this can be done under the ‘Manage my Adverts’ tab in TradieSpace. The more information listed in your advert, the higher it is ranked on the directory – which means the closer it comes to the top of the list in your category, resulting in more leads for you. 2. create an Web Banner - Web Banners are advertisement banners placed on a website where you can provide your contact details to your customers. TradieFinder display Web Banners on the sides of our categories page and search results pages. Login to TradieSpace with your username and password and select the ‘Edit Your Advertisement’ tab. Here you can update details and add images at any time.
If you sign up to a Gold membership you have the option to refuse all leads. Don’t want the lead? Don’t pay a cent! Simply reply NO to any lead requests you do not wish to accept and you will not be charged the $5.00 lead fee.
If you are a Silver member you automatically accept all incoming leads, however you can swap in between the Silver and Gold memberships as many times as you want.
Will my advertisement show up in areas I don't want to travel to? Top
You select the areas you wish to service when you sign up to TradieFinder. At any time you can log back on and change your service locations. It is important to only select areas you are willing to travel to. Your advertisement will only show up in the areas you select. If you wish to broaden your customer base and gain more job opportunities, we strongly recommend selecting more regions to service, as long as you’re willing to travel to them.
